Porsche 918 Spyder

Having previously covered the McLaren P1 (P1 GTR to be exact) and LaFerrari which are the other two members of a group of hypercars that are known as the Holy Trinity, I felt it was time to give some attention to the 3rd, which also happens to be a car I really like as well. The Porsche 918 Spyder. The 918 Spyder is powered by a hybrid V8 engine. The V8 itself has 608 horsepower and combined with two electric motors that add around 282 additional horsepower, the car in total has around 875 horsepower. It reaches top speed of 346 kmph making it the fastest Porsche created as of now. Even though the 918 Spyder may not be as powerful as the LaFerrari or P1, it is still a unique hypercar with its own stand out features that make it special. Unlike the LaFerrari or P1, the 918 Spyder is a convertible only car with no coupes being built and that is actually a pretty unique thing as well since most hypercars are either coupes or offer both coupe and convertible options. Porsche 911 Dakar Edition

The Auto Madness event in Dubai gave me a great amount of interesting cars to photograph. One of the more unique cars that I saw over there was the Porsche 911 Dakar Edition which was launched just earlier in 2023. What makes the 911 Dakar unique is that it is a 4 wheel drive, off road edition of the regular 911. As of now it is one of only two known supercar off roaders, the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato being the other one. The 911 Dakar sits on a higher platform, has higher ground clearance and comes with special off road tires in order to support off road driving. It also comes with an optional white and blue racing livery with a number on the car if you want. With around 2000 units to be produced, the 911 Dakar is quite rare as well.  Interestingly enough, the 911 Dakar is already sold out. With Porsche seemingly getting a great success with the 911 Dakar with the car being sold out not long after it was launched, it will be interesting to see if the supercar off roader concept...

Auto Madness 2023

Car events are the best way to not only photograph interesting cars, but also hang out with fellow enthusiasts. It is for this reason that I try and attend as many of these car events as possible when the chance comes.  That is why I ended up going to Auto Madness Dubai, a car event taking place on November 4th and 5th in Dubai hosted by well known Dutch organizer 402automotive. 402automotive have hosted car events in the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria for more than 20 years. I have been to car events before but nothing of this scale. I had a couple of doubts going into it at first but eventually I decided I was going to do it. It turned out to be a great decision. I got to photograph my first hypercars, as well as several supercars, classic and modified cars. It was also the first time I ever went to a race track as it was hosted in the Dubai Autodrome. A hypercar in simple terms is basically an ultimate supercar. There are several key features in order to classify a car as a hypercar. Mainly aerodynamics and performance, design and rarity. Hypercars usually use highly advanced materials such as carbon fiber in their design to keep the car lightweight which helps with the aerodynamics of the car and to increase its top speed. Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica

The Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica is the newest Huracan variant that was launched. It is a mid level variant positioned in between the normal Evo variant and the top end track focused STO variant. The Huracan Tecnica is powered by a 631 horsepower V10, so even though it isn’t as powerful as the STO it is still a pretty powerful car by itself. The car reaches a top speed of 325 kmph as well, so the Tecnica is a great package for those who want a faster Huracan that is still road friendly and not track focused. The Huracan Tecnica has some visible exterior changes as well. The general looks are a lot sharper and more aggressive compared to the regular Huracan especially with the black bits at the front. There are a wide variety of customization options as well for owners to spec their car as per their liking, like a carbon fiber hood. Jaguar XJ220

It’s been a while since I’ve written about one of the cars in my rather old Supercars trump card set that is from around 2014. This set consists of 25 supercars and hypercars mainly from the mid 1990’s to the early 2010’s. Several of these are legendary cars while others are not as known but each of these 25 cars have a story to tell and so I’ve decided to share them all on here.  I’ve done several of these cars already like the Mclaren 12C and Lexus LFA. Ferrari SF90 XX

The Ferrari SF90 Stradale is already an incredible car by itself, having a total of 1000 hp being powered by a hybrid V8 engine, a top speed of 300+ kmph and a super powerful acceleration. It makes the SF90 Stradale one of Ferraris most powerful cars currently. But if there is one thing you need to know about Ferrari it’s that they will always find a way to enhance some of their fastest production cars and make them even more powerful, usually by creating a high performance or track focused variant that is limited edition. Land Rover has a variety of cars and the famous Range Rover itself comes in many variants. The most luxurious and high end variant out of all of them is called the Range Rover Autobiography. The Range Rover Autobiography is actually a very expensive car and in India costs around 4 to 4.5 crores making it as expensive as many supercars. But despite the cost, the car ended up getting quite a few buyers. One of the reasons being it is the best luxury SUV in that segment as the Rolls Royce Cullinan and Bentley Bentayga are still more expensive with others being more performance based. McLaren 765LT

The McLaren 720S is pretty powerful by itself, but there is an even more powerful limited edition variant of the 720S out there. It is called the 765LT.  So the 765 LT is a high performance and more track focused car compared to the 720S so as a result it has certain changes like increased horsepower and speed and also lesser weight to make the car lighter. McLaren also later launched a 765LT Spider not long after the coupe. There are also a ton of customization and spec options for the 765 LT. In fact McLaren’s Special Operations division that is responsible for customizing McLaren cars have created some of the most insane specs including some of the 765 LT. Now both the 765LT and 765LT Spider are limited to 765 units each based on its own name so it’s a pretty exclusive car and hard to get as you can imagine. Bugatti Veyron

  I thought it was about time I did another special car, so why not do the Bugatti Veyron. When the Bugatti Veyron was launched in 2005 it soon became obvious that this car was very special, as it broke the production car top speed record which made it became successful very quickly and became an extremely popular car known all over the world. Even when I just got into supercars I knew what the Veyron was, that was how popular it had become.  The Veyron started official production not long after and besides the normal Veyron Bugatti would later introduce several Veyron variants like the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and the Veyron Super Sport.  The Veyron Super Sport broke the speed record again by reaching a total of 431 kmph, a record that for years until it was beaten by the Koenigsegg Agera.
