Porsche 918 Spyder

Image
Having previously covered the McLaren P1 (P1 GTR to be exact) and LaFerrari which are the other two members of a group of hypercars that are known as the Holy Trinity, I felt it was time to give some attention to the 3rd, which also happens to be a car I really like as well. The Porsche 918 Spyder. The 918 Spyder is powered by a hybrid V8 engine. The V8 itself has 608 horsepower and combined with two electric motors that add around 282 additional horsepower, the car in total has around 875 horsepower. It reaches top speed of 346 kmph making it the fastest Porsche created as of now. Even though the 918 Spyder may not be as powerful as the LaFerrari or P1, it is still a unique hypercar with its own stand out features that make it special. Unlike the LaFerrari or P1, the 918 Spyder is a convertible only car with no coupes being built and that is actually a pretty unique thing as well since most hypercars are either coupes or offer both coupe and convertible options. It is also an all-whee...

Seeing A Hypercar - The Ultimate Dream

Image
A hypercar in simple terms is basically an ultimate supercar. There are several key features in order to classify a car as a hypercar. Mainly aerodynamics and performance, design and rarity. Hypercars usually use highly advanced materials such as carbon fiber in their design to keep the car lightweight which helps with the aerodynamics of the car and to increase its top speed. Due to the aerodynamics, majority of hypercars have a distinct shape that also happens to stand out visually and make it more recognizable. For rarity. In order to make them as exclusive as possible, hypercars have a production number of 500 units or lesser and in some cases are even one offs. Owners have complete control over the configuration and specs of their car making each specific example unique in its own way. As some of the most exclusive vehicles around, it is every supercar enthusiast and car photographers dream to see and photograph one. The first hypercar sighting be it at an event, showroom or even ...

Bugatti Veyron

Image
I thought it was about time I did another special car, so why not do the Bugatti Veyron. When the Bugatti Veyron was launched in 2005 it soon became obvious that this car was very special, as it broke the production car top speed record which made it became successful very quickly and became an extremely popular car known all over the world. Even when I just got into supercars I knew what the Veyron was, that was how popular it had become.  The Veyron started official production not long after and besides the normal Veyron Bugatti would later introduce several Veyron variants like the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and the Veyron Super Sport.  The Veyron Super Sport broke the speed record again by reaching a total of 431 kmph, a record that for years until it was beaten by the Koenigsegg Agera. The Veyron is considered to be the car responsible for starting would what become the exclusive hypercar segment as car makers such as Koenigsegg and Pagani for example would mak...

Pagani Huayra

Image
I have been wanting to make a post about for quite some time now about a special hypercar. This car happens to be one of the first hypercars I ever knew about back when I was a kid. I remember that I immediately loved this hypercar the moment I saw a photo of it and it is still among my favorite ones today. The Pagani Huayra. Now the Pagani Zonda is a legendary car and it is the Zonda that made Pagani famous, so they knew that they needed to make something amazing as the Zonda’s successor. In 2011 Pagani launched the Huayra and it immediately became a hit for them and when you look at the car it is easy to see why the Huayra became popular and why I like it so much. The Huayra is a very attractive car and the beautiful design is one of the reasons why. The detailing on the car just looks amazing and the proportions are exactly what you would expect a hypercar to be like. Long, sharp and stylish. There are several variants of the Huayra, such as Huayra Roadster which is the convertible ...

Pininfarina Battista

Image
The electric hypercar segment is one that is rapidly growing with many car makers having seen the opportunity in this segment. There are already several electric hypercars out there including the Rimac Nevera, Lotus Evija and the hypercar this post is about. The Pininfarina Battista. Pininfarina is a famous car design company from Italy which has worked with several legendary car makers such as Ferrari and Maserati. The company was acquired in recent times by Indian car maker Mahindra. The Pininfarina Battista itself was announced in 2022 with just 150 units expected to be produced. This makes the Battista the first hypercar created by an Indian owned company. In 2023 the Battista became the fastest ever car on Indian soil as it reached a top speed of 358 kmph. It also has incredible acceleration reaching 0 to 100 kmph in just 1.86 seconds.  And as you would expect from a company like Pininfarina the car is extremely well-designed. The distinct hypercar looks are easy to notice as ...

Rimac Nevera - Fastest electric hypercar

Image
This blog post is about the Rimac Nevera which is an electric hypercar that was launched recently and has become an instant success. Rimac is a car maker from Croatia and they had this idea of making an electric hypercar and make it the fastest electric car ever. So Rimac ended up creating the Nevera. Obviously the Rimac Nevera was tested many times to try and see how fast it goes with the goal of being the fastest electric car ever and in November 2022 it finally happened. The Rimac Nevera broke the record for the fastest electric car ever reaching a top speed of 412 kmph. Amazing. Rimac who until then were a mostly unknown Croatian car maker trying to make the fastest electric hypercar have suddenly become famous worldwide for this epic achievement with the Rimac Nevera. That is also amazing. Besides the unbelievable performance of the Nevera, even the design looks very good and you can easily make out the hypercar looks of the Nevera. Now the Rimac Nevera will become a production hy...

Bugatti Chiron

Image
I had been thinking of making a Bugatti Chiron post for some time so I decided now is the time to make one. The Bugatti Chiron is a hypercar and I can only describe it as an epic one. The main reason is that the Chiron can reach speeds of up to 400 kmph which makes it currently the fastest production road car. Asides from unbelievable speed the Chiron is also well designed and looks very good from all angles so not only does it have amazing performance but it is also great to look at. The Chiron of course is successor to the legendary Veyron which also held the title of fastest production road car earlier and was the first hypercar ever made. The Chiron is a limited edition and like majority of limited edition supercars and hypercars it can be completely customized. Overall the Bugatti Chiron is definitely one of the most special hypercars, it is also my current favorite hypercar.
