Well. Looks like I’m posting back to back childhood supercars. This post however covers a completely different supercar compared to the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta which I wrote about in my previous post. This time It’s the Aston Martin DB9 which I will be covering. Before I get into the details of the DB9 itself I thought I would share an interesting story about my introduction to Aston Martin. My introduction to Aston Martin unlike many didn’t come from James Bond. Instead, it came from the racing game Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. The DB9, DBS Volante and I believe the V12 Vantage all were featured in the game and they were my go to cars in both in the cop and racer modes. I ended up liking all the Aston Martins of that time but it was the DB9 which I quickly became attached to. Aston Martin have launched its newest car called the DBX 707 and it is the most powerful super SUV as of right now so of course I have to cover it. The DBX 707 has unbelievable acceleration for a super SUV as it goes from 0 to 100 in just 3 seconds and the car also breaks the 300 kmph barrier which is another great achievement for Aston Martin. Another interesting thing about the DBX 707 is that it is powered by a Mercedes AMG engine. Mercedes AMG of course being the high performance line of Mercedes cars. I like the fact that the DBX 707 has gone all out on performance instead of luxury unlike super SUVs from other British manufacturers like the Rolls Royce Cullinan or Bentley Bentayga which are more luxury based. The DBX 707 being a pure performance super SUV that's more suited to being driven on a race track instead of regular roads makes it stand out.
